Recall to Forget

Vogelklang is an experimental ambient project that chooses anonymity as a form of presence. Created by the entity known as Otis Klang, the recordings are performed live to cassette using a Tascam 488—no edits, no post-production.

The debut album, "Recall to Forget", spans 7 tracks and around 40 minutes of meditative and esoteric atmospheres, inspired by Cluster, Steve Roach, and Władysław Komendarek.

Hovering between memory and forgetting, the album doesn’t search for answers—it opens spaces. It’s an invitation to listen with eyes closed, as if memory were a landscape slowly dissolving.

Manifesto

Sometimes we remember so we don't forget.
Other times, to finally let go.

This album was born from that quiet confusion:
where memories echo softly,
and forgetting doesn't hurt — it clears.

There’s no clear story here.
Just moments, textures, emotions dissolving.
Like a dream you’re not sure was yours or someone else’s.

"Recall to Forget" is a slow drift.
A gentle journey that doesn’t look for answers.
It moves between the natural and the unseen.
Between the ordinary and the strange.
Between spirit and the soft noise of the mind.

There’s no hidden message.
Just sound to get lost in.
And maybe, deep down, to find something of yourself.

Otis Klang is an alias that chooses anonymity as a form of presence.
From somewhere in the global South, recordings unfold live to tape—no roadmap, no overdubs.
